Iain Stirling to host BBC’s “Race Against the Tide” sand‑sculpting series

BBC comedian and Love Island narrator Iain Stirling will present the new six‑part competition “Race Against the Tide”. The series pits seven teams—each pairing a professional sand sculptor with a novice—against a six‑hour clock to create elaborate sand sculptures before the incoming tide washes them away. Filmed on West Sands Beach in St Andrews, the show will air in August on BBC Scotland, BBC Two and iPlayer.

Judges Sadie Clayton, an acclaimed artist and sculptor, and internationally renowned sand sculptor Jamie Wardley will evaluate creativity, narrative flair and technical skill. Stirling will signal the halfway point with a yellow flag and the final ten‑minute warning with a red flag, adding his signature humor throughout the competition.
