Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation marks five years of philanthropy
The Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation marked its fifth anniversary at City Hall, celebrating its progress in philanthropic efforts across Australia. Founded in 2021, the organization focuses on long-term partnerships with approximately 50 different organizations rather than providing one-off funding.
In the last financial year, the foundation distributed over $5.8 million to partner organizations, bringing its total giving to $19.5 million. With an additional $20.8 million already committed, total commitments have reached more than $40.3 million. The foundation has set a long-term goal to direct more than $100 million toward strategic partnerships by its end date in 2034.
Founder and chairperson Tracy Norman stated that the foundation aims to support change-makers to improve lives, systems, and ecosystems. The anniversary event featured presentations from various partners, including Bayley Arts, Boys to the Bush, LIVIN, White Box, and the University of Newcastle.
