Ianis Hagi reportedly reaches principle agreement with Olympique de Marseille

Reports from Romanian media suggest that Romanian midfielder Ianis Hagi has reached a principle agreement with Olympique de Marseille for a potential transfer during the winter mercato. According to Fanatik.ro, the 27-year-old player has reportedly prioritized a move to Marseille, allegedly declining an offer from Maccabi Tel-Aviv worth approximately one million euros per season to pursue this option.

Despite these reports, no formal agreement has been announced between Olympique de Marseille and Hagi’s current club, Alanyaspor, where he is under contract until June 2027. The transfer remains speculative, as French media have not yet corroborated the claims and the financial constraints of Marseille's recruitment strategy remain a significant factor.

Hagi, who has previously played for Fiorentina and Glasgow Rangers, is viewed as a versatile option for manager Bruno Genesio, capable of playing as a central midfielder or in a more offensive role. He has had limited playing time in Turkey this season, recording only 103 minutes of action.
