Ćićarija forest clearing revealed by drone footage

New drone footage and photographs have revealed the extensive scale of forest clearing in the Ćićarija region above Račja Vas. The aerial imagery shows wide, denuded strips of land and surfaces where trees have been completely removed, contrasting sharply with the surrounding dense forest landscape.

The intensive logging has caused concern among local residents and nature enthusiasts. In response to the activity, the Association for the Management of Common Property of the Village of Račja Vas stated that the works were commissioned to repair forest roads, clear firebreaks, and maintain accessibility. While the footage highlights the significant environmental footprint left by the operations, it does not clarify the specific circumstances under which the work was executed.
