IAS Vaibhav Srivastav appointed Basti district magistrate

IAS officer Vaibhav Srivastav, previously managing director of the PCDF in Lucknow, took oath as the new District Magistrate (Mandalayukt) of Basti district on 6 August 2026. He was received with a guard of honour at the circuit house and welcomed by senior officials.

Srivastav pledged that transparent delivery of government welfare schemes to the last citizen will be his top priority and that any negligence at any level will not be tolerated. He said development works in the three districts of Basti, Siddharthnagar and Sant Kabir Nagar will be completed on schedule, and that grievances will be resolved promptly on the spot. He urged all officials to coordinate closely and to monitor the ground reality of schemes in the field.
