Šiauliai Culture Center celebrates 80th anniversary

The Šiauliai Culture Center celebrated its 80th anniversary with a theatrical musical performance titled ‘Aštuoniasdešimt įkvėpimų’ (Eighty Inspirations). Held at the center’s Grand Concert Hall, the event personified the institution’s eight decades of history through a narrative voiced by actor Juozas Žibūda.

The production integrated historical archives, photography, and modern projections with live music from the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra (NIKO), conducted by Gediminas Gelgotas. Directed by Lina Jankauskaitė-Peleckienė, the performance utilized light effects and holographic tulle to blend past fragments with the present. The anniversary was attended by representatives from the Lithuanian National Culture Centre and the Lithuanian Cultural Centres Association.
