The Ibagué Municipal Health Secretariat has intensified inspection, surveillance, and control actions in hotels and motels throughout the city. These surprise visits are being conducted during the school break season to manage the increased influx of visitors and residents.

Health officials are inspecting rooms and common areas to verify hygiene, cleaning, and disinfection standards. Specific focus is being placed on the condition of bathrooms, bedding, pillows, and mattresses. Additionally, authorities are checking emergency preparedness by inspecting the availability and condition of fire extinguishers and first aid kits to ensure establishments can respond to potential risks.
