Ibagué launches heritage trail for Colombian Folkloric Festival

The municipal government of Ibagué introduced the Ruta Patrimonial del Festival Folclórico Colombiano, a cultural tourism route called “Vive la Ruta del Folclor.” The initiative links six historic sites—including the Callejón de los Vientos, the Tolima Governor’s Office, Parque Bolívar, Casa Leonor Buenaventura, Casa Familia Melendro and the Folklore Center—to showcase the city’s role in the Festival Folclórico and regional identity. Graduates of the Escuela de Formación Artística y Cultural will perform reenactments and narratives at each venue, offering visitors an immersive experience of music, dance and local traditions. Operated by travel firms Comerciatur and Camaleón Travel, the route aims to attract residents and tourists during the mid‑year festivities, strengthening cultural tourism and community pride in Ibagué, the “Capital Musical of Colombia.”
