Ibagué launches largest Latin American fitness event and its 52nd Folklore Festival

On 7 June 2026, Colombia’s Ministry of Sport, led by President Gustavo Petro, organized the "Latidos de mi Tierra HEVS" activity in Ibagué’s Manuel Murillo Toro Stadium. About 7,000 people, including 150 fitness monitors, took part in a three‑day program that blended physical exercise, music and cultural expressions while providing training to promote healthy lifestyles.

From 11 June to 29 June 2026, Ibagué will host the 52nd Festival Folclórico, presenting more than 50 events such as concerts, parades, culinary celebrations and international delegations. Highlights include the Gran Desfile de San Juan on 24 June, a performance by vallenato artist Martín Elías Jr., and a concert by the National Symphony Orchestra on 19 June. The festival aims to showcase the region’s cultural heritage and attract thousands of visitors.
