Ibagué launches Mangostino de Oro festival and adds 26.7 trillion pesos to municipal budget
The 31st edition of the Mangostino de Oro National Andean Music Festival will open with a three‑day free program in Ibagué from July 31 to August 2, featuring performances by the Dueto Luar, contratenor Asael Cuesta, and the Tolima Symphony Orchestra, as well as academic sessions on Andean music traditions.
Separately, the Ibagué City Council approved an additional 26.7 trillion Colombian pesos to the municipal income‑and‑expenses budget. The new funds will support school feeding programs and the operation of public educational institutions in the city.
Both initiatives aim to strengthen cultural life and public services in the Tolima department’s capital.
