Ibaneis Rocha returns to legal practice after seven years as Governor

Ibaneis Rocha has announced his return to the legal profession after serving seven years and three months as the Governor of the Federal District (GDF). Following two terms in office, Rocha communicated via social media that he will resume activities at his law firm.

Rocha described the transition as a return to his professional roots, noting that his time in public service provided significant personal and professional growth. He stated that the experience of managing the Federal District helped him better understand the challenges faced by the population, remarking, “I return to advocacy as a different person.”

He will be joined at his office by his son, Caio, along with friends and business partners. Rocha characterized this move as the conclusion of one cycle and the beginning of a new journey.
