Ibaraki Prefecture launches employment and regional revitalization initiatives

Ibaraki Prefecture is launching several initiatives to support employment and regional revitalization. Under a project commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Ibaraki Labour Bureau, Jinzaikikaku will host three free employment support events for mid-career professionals (ages 35 to 59) between September and October 2026.

These events include an online seminar on September 18 to help participants organize their job-seeking strategies, followed by workshops in Tsuchiura and Mito to assist with reskilling and career planning. Additionally, joint job fairs will be held in Mito and Tsukuba in early October, featuring over 15 companies per venue that are actively recruiting mid-career talent.

Separately, the “iBARAKICK!” program, operated by NPO ETIC. on behalf of Ibaraki Prefecture, is holding a kick-off ceremony in Mito on September 5, 2026. This initiative matches urban talent with local companies to solve regional challenges through collaborative projects. For the 2026 term, 14 individuals have been matched with 13 local companies to drive business growth and regional engagement.
