Ibaraki Prefecture launches tourism campaign with ‘The Apothecary Diaries’
Ibaraki Prefecture is launching a tourism promotion campaign in collaboration with the TV anime ‘The Apothecary Diaries’. The initiative features two main components: an AR photo spot experience and a regional stamp rally.
From October 3 to November 29, 2026, visitors can use AR technology at specific locations in Hitachi, Tsukuba, Namegata, and Daigo to take photos with specially drawn mini-characters of Maomao, Jinshi, and Basen. These spots are designed to highlight local scenery, such as the sunrise at Hitachi Station and the waterfalls in Daigo.
Additionally, a stamp rally titled ‘IBARAKI is Blossoming: The Apothecary Diaries Sequel’ will run from October 17, 2026, to January 18, 2027. Participants can choose between two themed courses—‘Maomao’s Plants and Scenery’ and ‘Jinshi’s Flowers and Lakeside’—to collect stamps at 10 different tourist locations. Those who collect at least three stamps can receive original illustrated cards. The campaign also includes special collaboration menus at Ibaraki Flower Park and The Botanical Resort Hayane.
