Ibarra presents seven candidates for Reina de Ibarra 2026-2027

Seven candidates have been presented for the Reina de Ibarra 2026-2027 pageant in San Miguel de Ibarra, Ecuador. The competition is part of the celebrations marking the 420th anniversary of the city's foundation.

The aspirants—Tamara Santamaría, Malena Pozo, Diana Montesdeoca, Katy Keery, Daniela Mejía, Janny Ortega, and Natalia Medrano—recently met with Mayor Álvaro Castillo and other local authorities. During the meeting, the candidates discussed their motivations for participating and outlined social projects they intend to promote during their tenure.

The selection process will include various public activities and official presentations. The organizing committee is led by María Victoria Rea, the city's Director of Education, Culture, and Heritage.
