IBC2026 to showcase media infrastructure and AI streaming technology

The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC2026), scheduled for September 11–14, 2026, at the RAI Amsterdam, will feature significant industry developments in media technology and infrastructure.

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) will host the “SMPTE Roadshow: Future of Media Infrastructure” on September 14. The program includes sessions on strategic technology roadmaps for executive leadership and practical applications of Dynamic Media Facilities (DMF) for software-defined production. Topics include the transition from SDI to IP, UHD, 8K, and codec strategies.

Additionally, Japanese company PLAY Inc. will exhibit its AI-powered video streaming platform, “STREAKS,” at the convention. In a strategic move to test AI-driven international sales, PLAY plans to manage its presence at the event through a remote team in Japan combined with AI tools to conduct business with global broadcasters and media operators.
