IBDF calls for restoration of TV ratings and announces leadership changes

At the 27th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Broadcasting & Digital Foundation (IBDF) in New Delhi, industry members called for the immediate restoration of BARC television ratings. Broadcasters expressed concern that the ongoing suspension of ratings is impacting revenue visibility and advertiser confidence, particularly during the upcoming festive season.

During the meeting, Kevin Vaz, CEO of Entertainment at JioStar, was re-elected as President of the IBDF. The foundation also announced leadership changes, including the induction of Ashish Sehgal, CEO of Times TV Network, as a Director and the transition of John Brittas to a permanent board member.

IBDF members also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and TRAI for recent regulatory decisions. These include the omission of advertisement-duration caps under the Cable Television Networks Rules and the repeal of certain quality of service regulations, which the industry had long requested.
