Šibenik police arrest man after fatal stabbing and attempted murder

A 24-year-old man, Duje E., has been arrested following a violent attack in an apartment in Šibenik. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, resulted in the death of a 28-year-old man and left a 22-year-old woman seriously injured.

Investigators believe the attack took place during a drug session. Police reported finding a significant amount of drugs at the scene and noted that the apartment was heavily vandalized. The suspect, who has a prior criminal record involving drug abuse and property crimes, was apprehended near his home approximately 20 minutes after the emergency call.

Due to his state of heavy intoxication at the time of arrest, the suspect was placed under medical and police supervision at the Šibenik General Hospital before being brought before an investigative judge. The State Attorney's Office has ordered an autopsy and is continuing to investigate the motive behind the fatal confrontation.
