Iberdrola adds 920 EV chargers in Castilla y León while Polestar probes driving excitement

Iberdrola now operates more than 920 public electric‑vehicle charging points across Castilla y León, with about 30 % offering fast, rapid or ultra‑rapid charging that can restore up to 200 km of range in five to forty minutes. All stations are supplied with electricity certified as 100 % renewable, supporting Spain’s decarbonisation goals, improving air quality, and fostering regional economic competitiveness by attracting investment and reducing reliance on imported fuels.

Polestar has launched a joint research programme with the University of Oxford called “Thrill of Driving”. The project uses biometric sensors to record drivers’ heart rate, brain activity and skin conductance while they test electric cars. By analysing how humans respond to vehicle cues such as torque delivery, chassis precision, steering feel and software‑mediated dynamics, Polestar aims to create future EV models that deliver a more engaging and enjoyable driving experience without resorting to artificial engine sounds.
