Iberdrola mobilizes volunteers in Castilla y León for social and environmental initiatives
Iberdrola has mobilized 200 volunteers across Castilla y León for the International Volunteering Week, focusing on environmental conservation and social support for vulnerable groups.
In Salamanca, volunteers partnered with the ASPRODES association to host an inclusive leisure day featuring friendly bowling competitions for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This initiative aims to promote social visibility and community participation through shared sports and coexistence.
In the municipality of Villarejo, volunteers are conducting reforestation efforts in an area severely impacted by the 2021 forest fires. This activity includes collaboration with people with intellectual disabilities from AMAS to restore the ecosystem and recover a high-value natural space for the local community.
Iberdrola’s corporate volunteering program has operated for nearly two decades, involving approximately 23,000 volunteers and benefiting over 14 million people through more than 9,500 initiatives in collaboration with 2,600 associations.
