Iberdrola reviews global infrastructure projects and expansion
Iberdrola's Board of Directors and Executive Commission met in Bilbao to review ongoing global projects and financial outlooks. The company is focusing on strategic markets, including significant infrastructure developments in the United Kingdom. This includes the integration of a Manchester-based distributor following a 5 billion euro investment and the commencement of new submarine line works under the 26/31 regulatory framework, which involves a total investment of 15 billion euros.
In the United States, Iberdrola continues to invest in transport and distribution networks, recently commissioning an offshore wind farm off the coast of Massachusetts with a 4 billion euro investment. The company is also managing the authorization process for the acquisition of the Finnish distributor Caruna, valued at 5 billion euros.
Financial performance is expected to trend upward due to new investments, increased generation in Spain, and positive developments in the Brazilian grid business. The company aims to build on its recent results during the second half of the year.
