Iberdrola | bp pulse secures up to €230 million financing to expand high‑power EV charging network in Spain and Portugal

Iberdrola | bp pulse has closed a bank financing of roughly €130 million, with the option to increase the amount to €230 million. The club‑deal was arranged with ING, Rabobank, the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) and Kutxabank and is described by the company as the largest financing ever for e‑mobility in the Iberian Peninsula.

The funding will be used to accelerate the rollout of high‑power public charging stations across Spain and Portugal over the next three to five years. Iberdrola | bp pulse already operates more than 2,500 high‑power charging points in the two countries, deployed in less than three years since the joint venture was created. All electricity supplied at the stations is guaranteed to be 100 % renewable, supporting the decarbonisation of transport.

CFO Roberto Cocina said the financing provides the flexibility and capital structure needed to execute the business plan, while CEO Pablo Pirles highlighted that it will enable continued investment in strategic locations, advanced technology and service quality.
