Iberia to double Boston flights and expand Brazil capacity in 2027

Iberia, part of the IAG group, is planning a significant expansion of its transatlantic network for 2027. The airline intends to double its flight frequencies to Boston, moving to two daily flights starting in late March 2027.

To support this growth, Iberia will utilize a mix of aircraft. During February and March 2027, the airline will supplement its existing Airbus A321XLR service with an Airbus A330-200, a wide-body aircraft that will increase seat capacity and provide a more expansive business class product.

Additionally, the airline plans to increase capacity and the number of flights to Recife and Fortaleza in northeastern Brazil during February and March 2027. These routes are currently operated using the Airbus A321XLR, a long-range, single-aisle aircraft that Iberia is using to optimize its North American and South American connections.
