Ibero-American countries have approved a series of agreements in Alicante to facilitate university exchanges, advance degree recognition, and strengthen scientific and technological cooperation. A key outcome is the approval of the Ibero-American Charter of Academic Mobility, which aims to reduce administrative obstacles for students moving between countries in the region. This initiative seeks to facilitate access to foreign universities, academic exchanges, transcript transfers, and double degrees, while promoting the presumption of equivalence for titles issued by recognized institutions.

Additionally, a joint declaration of university cooperation was signed between Spain and Chile during an academic meeting in Tenerife. Signed by representatives from the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) and the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), the agreement commits both nations to sharing knowledge, research networks, and capacities to address global challenges and social, technological, and economic changes.
