IBGE authorized to hire 325 temporary professionals

The Brazilian federal government has authorized the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) to conduct a simplified selection process for 325 temporary positions. The roles are divided into 276 telephone research agents, which require a high school education, and 49 telephone research supervisors, which require a higher education degree.

The authorization was published in the Official Gazette of the Union, signed by the Minister of Development, Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck, and the Minister of Planning and Budget, Bruno Moretti. The new hires will support statistical and geoscientific research activities.

IBGE has up to six months from the date of authorization to publish the official public notice (edital), which will detail specific requirements, salaries, exam dates, and the organizing body. This deadline extends to April 20, 2027. The contracts will be for a fixed term and may be extended to ensure the completion of planned activities.
