IBGE sets Thursday deadline for 8,000+ temporary positions
Brazil's Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) opened a public competition for more than 8,000 temporary jobs linked to the national census. The contest offers 8,238 (some reports cite 8,258) vacancies across roles such as census agent, supervisor, informatics specialist and regional operative. Applications close on Thursday at 14:00 local time.
The written exam is scheduled for 27 September and will consist of 60 multiple‑choice questions covering Portuguese, quantitative reasoning, administration and other subjects. Candidates who pass will sign contracts of up to 12 months, renewable to a total of 48 months, with salaries ranging from R$2,128 to R$4,008 plus food, transport and other benefits.
