IBGE launches 2026 health survey and ends job contest registrations

IBGE National Health Survey job contest Mato Grosso temporary positions

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) began the third edition of the National Health Survey (PNS) in July 2026, covering the whole country through November. In the state of Mato Grosso about 4,845 households will be visited, gathering data on chronic diseases, mental health, nutrition, physical activity, alcohol and tobacco use, and access to health services. Selected participants aged 35 and older will also receive free blood and urine tests to generate more precise health indicators.

At the same time, IBGE closed the registration period for its Simplified Selection Process (PSS) on Monday, July 20. The contest offers 1,414 temporary positions for census agents and analysts across Brazil, with candidates required to choose the state and municipality for the written exam. Application fees are R$41.76 for agent roles and R$37.50 for analyst roles, with payment due by Tuesday, July 21.
