Ibiporã student arrested for creating child abuse images with AI

A 20-year-old student was arrested in flagrante in Ibiporã, northern Paraná, during the Federal Police operation ‘Anjos da Guarda VI’. The individual is suspected of using artificial intelligence to create, store, and potentially share child sexual abuse material.

During the search and seizure, authorities confiscated two cell phones and a computer. These devices are undergoing technical analysis to identify files and map potential connections to other individuals. The investigation aims to determine if the suspect distributed the content. Under Brazilian law, specifically following Law No. 14.811/2024, the possession or storage of child abuse material, including content generated by AI, is classified as a heinous crime.
