Criminal violence and domestic abuse reported across Brazil and Mozambique

Various criminal incidents involving domestic violence, sexual assault, and theft have been reported across Brazil and Mozambique.

In Ibiporã, Paraná, a woman successfully sought help by writing ‘Please do not let my husband enter the consultation. Help...’ in her medical record at Hospital Cristo Rei. Her 44-year-old husband, who had previously assaulted another partner, was arrested in flagrante for domestic violence, threats, and unlawful imprisonment.

Other notable incidents include a 24-year-old woman in Maputo, Mozambique, accused of throwing hot water at her husband in what family members claim was self-defense against systemic abuse. In Brazil, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Antônio Dias for the sexual assault of a 10-year-old, and a 74-year-old man was detained in Peruíbe regarding the death of a 10-year-old girl.

Additional reports detail a man in Marmeleiro who used a sledgehammer to rob an elderly couple, a firefighter sentenced to 12 years for the sexual assault of a passenger on a bus, and several cases of domestic abuse and illegal weapon possession in various Brazilian municipalities.
