Ibirité student recovers after bee swarm attack

A 12-year-old student who was attacked by a swarm of bees in Ibirité, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, has shown significant clinical improvement. Following the incident on Monday, September 14, where a beehive fell from a tree near a municipal school entrance, the teenager was hospitalized in serious condition.

According to family reports and hospital updates, the student is no longer at risk of developing cardiac arrhythmia or renal failure, which were major concerns due to the high number of stings. She is expected to be transferred from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to an observation ward this Saturday, September 19.

The attack occurred as the girl was arriving at a municipal space for after-school activities. A passing motorcyclist assisted in the initial rescue by using spray deodorant to disperse the swarm, while school staff used water to help protect the victim.
