IBISA appoints Samdarshi Vikram Singh as CEO for India

Luxembourg-based insurtech IBISA has appointed Samdarshi Vikram Singh as CEO for India to spearhead the company’s expansion of parametric insurance solutions in the region. Singh, who brings over 18 years of experience in agricultural insurance and reinsurance from roles including his time at Generali, will lead the local strategy and team.

IBISA aims to deepen its presence in India by developing products that respond to specific climate-related risks such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves. Unlike traditional insurance, these parametric products provide payouts based on predefined triggers, such as specific rainfall or temperature thresholds, allowing for faster claims settlement without conventional loss assessments.

The company intends to expand its reach beyond agriculture into sectors including lending, SMEs, and renewable energy. This move is part of IBISA’s effort to scale its technology-enabled solutions and strengthen partnerships with insurers, reinsurers, and brokers across India’s climate-exposed economy.
