Balearic Islands sees 205 migrants arrive in a single day

A total of 205 migrants arrived in the Balearic Islands in a single day on Wednesday.

In Formentera, 17 migrants of Maghrebi origin were intercepted at Playa de Migjorn around 8:15 PM by the Guardia Civil. Earlier that day, at approximately 6:50 PM, 29 people of Sub-Saharan origin were rescued five miles south of the island of Cabrera. The rescue near Cabrera involved Salvamento Marítimo, the Guardia Civil's Maritime Service, and the Fiscal and Border Section of the Port of Palma. The individuals rescued near Cabrera were reported to be in apparent good health.
