Ibiza court upholds dismissal of waiter over TikTok video

The High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands has upheld the disciplinary dismissal of a waiter at a hotel in Ibiza. The employee had posted a video on TikTok during working hours that criticized the company and disclosed internal business details.

In the video, the worker revealed the hotel's private billing system and claimed that a coffee costing the establishment only 20 cents was being sold to customers for five euros. He also criticized the company's wage structures. The court ruled that the employee's conduct was sufficiently grave to justify dismissal, rejecting his legal challenge that the termination was disproportionate.
