Ibiza implements special controls and fines for waste and animal violations
The Ibiza City Council has announced an intensified enforcement campaign to combat incivility and improper waste management. Starting next Monday, the Local Police will launch a week-long special control operation as part of the ‘Eivissa és casa teua, no l’embrutis’ campaign.
Between January 1 and August 8, 2026, authorities issued 85 complaints regarding municipal ordinance violations. These included 61 infractions related to waste management—such as depositing commercial or industrial waste outside authorized hours, abandoning household waste incorrectly, leaving furniture or appliances on public roads, and illegal dumping of rubble—and 24 complaints regarding irresponsible pet ownership.
Pet-related infractions involved issues such as allowing animals to roam free outside authorized areas and failing to clean up excrement. The Local Police also intervened in 224 animal-related incidents, including reports of lost or abandoned animals and noise disturbances. Fines for these violations can reach up to 3,000 euros.
