Ibiza supply costs rise as shipping companies increase fuel surcharges
Shipping companies Baleària, GNV, and Trasmed have implemented new fuel surcharges, increasing the cost of transporting goods to Ibiza. These adjustments, applied via the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF), affect maritime connections between the Spanish mainland and the Balearic Islands, as well as inter-island routes such as Ibiza-Palma and Ibiza-Formentera.
Baleària has increased its supplement for freight vehicles by 4.375 euros per linear meter for round trips between the mainland and the Balearic Islands. These rising logistics costs are expected to increase the supply costs on the island, placing upward pressure on consumer product prices. Local transporters have noted that these increases are being passed down through the supply chain to the end consumer.
