Ibla Buskers Festival Pauses After 30 Years
The Ibla Buskers street‑theatre festival in Ragusa, Italy, announced that the 2026 edition will not take place, marking a temporary halt after three decades of annual events. Organisers from the cultural association Edrisi explained the decision in an open letter, saying the festival is “stressed and exhausted” and needs a break to rethink its future direction, structure and funding.
More than 500 companies from around the world have performed at the festival since its inception, making it one of Italy’s longest‑running street‑arts gatherings. The pause is presented as a pause, not a farewell, with the organisers inviting supporters to stay engaged while they reorganise and seek new energy for the next edition.
