Iblea Acque faces water leak in Ragusa and management criticism

A significant water leak has occurred on via Monelli in Ragusa, the road connecting Ragusa Ibla to the upper part of the city. Following a report from Mayor Peppe Cassì, technicians from Iblea Acque have intervened to locate the source and begin repairs. The situation is complicated by ongoing road redevelopment and safety works in the area, which already impose traffic limitations.

Separately, the Ragusa provincial leadership of the Democratic Party (PD) has criticized the management of Iblea Acque. The party expressed concern over recent administrative decisions, including an increase in the sole administrator's compensation and the hiring of a new executive, during a period of delicate financial standing. The PD is calling for the revocation of these contested acts and is proposing changes to the company's statutes to ensure greater transparency, stricter controls, and more distributed decision-making power to protect the financial stability of the member municipalities.
