IBM and Oracle introduce AI-driven enterprise planning and data tools

IBM and Oracle are advancing AI capabilities to enhance enterprise planning and data accuracy. During a webinar hosted by IBM and Venn Cubed, David Albert, Global Business Partner Lead for IBM Business Analytics, highlighted how AI-enabled planning analytics can address challenges such as planning inaccuracy, analytical silos, and reactive decision-making. Albert noted that while many organizations still rely on manual Excel-based planning, AI can transform planning teams into strategic advisors by providing real-time data, automation, and predictive insights.

Separately, Oracle announced the expansion of its Autonomous AI Lakehouse with a new Business Semantic Layer. This layer is designed to ground AI agents in business context by using catalog and SQL annotations to create reusable models of enterprise data, including KPIs and hierarchies. This ensures that AI-generated insights remain consistent with business definitions. Oracle also launched a Business Simulation Engine to assist enterprises in evaluating various business scenarios through integrated forecasting and what-if analysis.
