IBM shares decline following insider stock sale

International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) shares experienced a 1.3% decline during mid-day trading following a disclosure that a senior vice president sold 25,000 shares. The transaction, valued at approximately $5.76 million, reduced the executive's position by 34.34%.

Despite recent volatility and a significant 42% drop in mainframe revenue, some analysts maintain positive outlooks. Bank of America recently raised its price target for IBM to $330, while Jefferies Financial Group set a target of $260. Conversely, Oppenheimer downgraded the stock to a ‘market perform’ rating.

IBM's current market position is characterized by resilient recurring software revenue and a 2.8% dividend yield, supported by 31 consecutive annual dividend increases. While organic growth remains flat, management's full-year revenue guidance is bolstered by various acquisitions.
