IBM Ventures invests in Leena AI to expand agentic AI capabilities
IBM Ventures has announced a strategic investment in Leena AI, a company specializing in enterprise agentic AI. The funding is intended to support the growth of Leena AI’s ‘AI Colleague’ platform, which focuses on automating back-office processes.
Unlike traditional AI assistants that primarily answer questions, Leena AI’s platform utilizes autonomous agents designed to execute multi-step workflows and resolve employee requests within HR, IT, and finance departments. The technology is built to operate across existing enterprise systems, including SAP, Workday, Salesforce, Oracle, and ServiceNow.
Leena AI, which currently serves more than 500 global enterprises, was previously named an HR services collaborator by IBM in 2025. While the specific investment amount, valuation, or ownership stake was not disclosed, IBM Ventures stated that Leena AI’s approach complements IBM’s existing work in AI orchestration and governance.
