Ibovespa rises 2.71% driven by foreign inflows and lower oil prices
The Ibovespa index rose 2.71% over the week, closing at 177,664.62 points and ending a three-week losing streak. This recovery was driven by a return of foreign capital and falling oil prices, which helped ease global and domestic inflationary pressures.
According to Bank of America, foreign investors contributed approximately R$ 3.2 billion to the spot market during the week, partially offsetting nearly R$ 22 billion in outflows recorded during August. This inflow helped investors rebuild positions in heavyweights such as Vale and various banking institutions. Despite the recent volatility, the year-to-date foreign capital balance remains positive at R$ 16 billion.
Market participants are currently monitoring domestic fiscal data, including public debt, primary results, and budget balances, alongside the Focus Bulletin. International indicators, such as the Chicago PMI in the United States and economic data from China and Japan, also remain under observation.
