Ibrahim Al‑Asri elected president of Morocco's Wydad Casablanca football club
Club members of Wydad Athletic Club voted on Tuesday to elect Ibrahim Al‑Asri as the new president of the Moroccan football giant. In the second round of voting Al‑Asri received 72 votes, beating rival Yassine Saadallah's 56, and will serve a four‑year term, succeeding Hicham Ait Mena.
The general assembly also approved the club's financial and literary reports for the 2025‑2026 season. While Al‑Asri will head the club’s association, Ait Mena is expected to remain in charge of the sports company that manages the first‑team contracts and technical staff during the transition, a point that has attracted discussion among supporters.
