Ibrahim Kutluay comments on Panathinaikos owner Giannakopoulos

Former Panathinaikos EuroLeague champion Ibrahim Kutluay has commented on the impact and controversial nature of Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos. Kutluay described Giannakopoulos as a ‘phenomenon’ whose actions consistently spark discussion, noting that basketball needs such distinct figures despite disagreements with certain behaviors, such as smoking on the court.

Kutluay also highlighted the significant financial investment in the team, noting that the current squad is valued at approximately 60 million euros. Regarding Giannakopoulos's three-game suspension, which could prevent him from attending the EuroLeague Final Four in Athens, Kutluay joked that the owner would find a way to be present, suggesting he might even arrive via helicopter or through alternative means if the team reaches the final.
