Ibrahim Mbaye discusses pressure during PSG tenure

Ibrahim Mbaye, the 18-year-old forward who recently transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Aston Villa for approximately 55 million euros, has reflected on his time in Paris. In an interview with content creator Cheiikh Footstyle, Mbaye admitted that he struggled with self-imposed pressure while competing for playing time against high-profile attackers such as Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, Gonçalo Ramos, and Lee Kang-in.

Mbaye noted that he often compared himself to these established stars, telling himself, “I must do better than them.” He has since concluded that instead of trying to mimic them immediately, he should focus on learning from their experience. He emphasized the importance of not letting pressure affect performance and advised that players should focus on their own game while absorbing knowledge from more experienced teammates.
