Ibrahima Souleymane Ndiaye: A pioneer of Senegalese television

Ibrahima Souleymane Ndiaye, a pioneer of Senegalese national television and current president of the CORED Peers Tribunal, is reflecting on a career spanning half a century of journalistic history.

A graduate of the 7th Cesti promotion, Ndiaye was a prominent figure during the 1980s at the Radiodiffusion Télévision Nationale (RTS). During that era, when television was a rare commodity, RTS personnel served as major public figures and essential informers for the post-colonial nation.

Ndiaye, who served as the director of national television from 2007 to 2009, recalls a period when the country operated with a single television channel and a very limited number of reporters and presenters tasked with covering the entire nation.
