IBRAM restructures administration to boost mining sector support in Brazil

The Brazilian Institute of Mining (IBRAM) has reorganised its administrative structure as part of a strategic plan approved by its Board of Directors. The overhaul creates a new Legal and Compliance Directorate, which will be headed shortly by Luciano Santos, the institute's vice‑president of the Board, and adds a Legal and Compliance Management role filled by Thiago Do Val.

Existing directorates were renamed: the Communication and Projects area becomes the Directorate of Communication, Projects and Services under Paulo Henrique Soares; the Mining Affairs Directorate is now the Technical and Sustainability Directorate led by Julio Nery; and the Institutional Relations Directorate becomes the Directorate of Institutional Relations and Associative Affairs, led by President Pablo Cesário with institutional relations management overseen by Daniel Pires Vieira. The changes aim to strengthen IBRAM’s institutional role, expand its capacity to meet industry demand, and improve governance, risk management and legal safety for Brazil’s mining sector.
