Ibramed celebrates 32 years as Brazil's medical‑device industry surges

Brazil's medical‑device sector recorded industrial production of R$ 26.1 billion in 2024, marking a third consecutive year of growth and an 11.5% rise over the previous year. The segment comprises more than 1,200 companies, employs about 85 000 people and places Brazil among the ten largest markets worldwide. Forecasts suggest a further 7% expansion in 2025, with the rehabilitation vertical accounting for 11.89% of exports and showing a 26.64% increase.

Ibramed, a Brazilian electromechanical equipment maker founded in Amparo, São Paulo, marked its 32nd anniversary in July. The company supplies devices for aesthetics, aesthetic medicine, physiotherapy and health, all developed domestically. President‑executive José Ricardo de Souza said the sector’s progress depends on the integration of research, technology, production, education and innovation, noting that “continuous investment in research, regulatory quality and professional training enables the industry to develop technologies that meet clinical needs and safety requirements.”

Ibramed holds ANVISA registration, quality certifications and operates in over 30 countries. It runs the CEFAI training centre and the Ibramed Academy streaming platform to support technical education. In 2026 the firm launched oiLift, a facial therapeutic ultrasound device operating at 5.5 MHz and 10.10 MHz, and announced further product releases slated for later that year. These initiatives aim to boost the competitiveness of Brazil’s medical‑device manufacturing and expand its export potential.
