Ibu Kota Nusantara secures Rp74.54 trillion in private investment commitments

The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) has secured several new private investment commitments to support the development of Indonesia's new capital, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN). Total private investment commitments reached Rp74.54 trillion from 67 domestic and foreign investors as of August 7, 2026.

In the aviation sector, the OIKN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Land Bank Agency and Lion Group to explore the development of flight training facilities and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services. Through PT Batam Aero Teknik, Lion Group plans to establish these facilities near Nusantara International Airport to enhance air logistics and supply chain efficiency in eastern Indonesia.

Other significant investments include a Rp1.25 trillion apartment project by Starbright from China and a Rp2.5 trillion investment from South Korea. In the commercial and entertainment sectors, PT Indobox Cinematic Buana has signed agreements to build cinemas and cafes, with operations expected to begin in November. Additionally, Plataran has commenced land clearing for a culinary area in the West Axis region.
