IC Don Bosco Tieri hosts anti‑bullying scholarship ceremony in Calabria

On 29 July 2026, the IC Don Bosco V. Tieri school in Rossano, Calabria, held a ceremony to award the "Io non bullo né mi sballo" scholarship, an initiative aimed at raising awareness of bullying and substance abuse among young people. The event, organized by the Mani in Alto association, featured speeches from local officials, including Patrizia Straface, president of Mani in Alto, prosecutor Alessandro D’Alessio, and regional assessor Pasqualina Straface, who highlighted the importance of education in prevention.

The first prize in the Individual Work category was granted to Martina Bua, a student of the school's IIIC class, for her oil painting "La Complicità dello Sguardo," which depicts bullying as a theatrical scene where the victim's suffering becomes a spectacle. School director Laura Sisca and other educators praised the artwork as a powerful statement against indifference.

The ceremony underscored the role of schools, municipal authorities, and civil society in fostering a culture of respect and active citizenship.
