IC6 road project advances with 175 million euro investment

The Portuguese government has confirmed the progress of the IC6 road extension project, which will connect the municipalities of Tábua and Oliveira do Hospital to Folhadosa in Seia. The Secretary of State for Local Administration, Silvério Regalado, announced that the initial phase of the works is estimated to cost 175 million euros.

Key milestones include the delivery of the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) expected by November 2026 and a tender process scheduled for 2027. The project aims for completion by 2030. While the PSD de Tábua welcomed the movement of the project, which they claim had been stalled at Poço do Gato, the local party is calling for the addition of a second exit in the municipality to improve accessibility and emergency service response times.
