ICAC Operation Rosny: Former NSW minister testifies in corruption probe
The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is conducting public hearings for Operation Rosny, investigating allegations of political misconduct and illegal donations in New South Wales.
Former NSW cabinet minister Eleni Petinos testified that she felt “disgusted” after discovering she was allegedly used in a plot by a disgraced developer to remove building commissioner David Chandler from office. Petinos claimed that personal relationships were exploited in an improper manner by political operatives to undermine Chandler.
The inquiry is examining several key allegations, including claims that Liberal Party figures solicited illegal donations through fraudulent contracts. Additionally, investigators are looking into whether developer Jean Nassif, who is currently a fugitive in Lebanon, funded branch-stacking activities to advance his own interests. Former NSW police minister David Elliott is also scheduled to provide evidence as part of the ongoing probe.
